Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Siege is one of the best AAA FPS games available right now. It provides a feel similar yet completely different from the Counter-Strike series.

This guide will have multiple installments and will focus on making playing the game a smooth journey for complete beginners.

PS: If you get this game, get ready to get absolutely demolished by veterans.

Part 1 of the guide: Which edition should you buy?

How many Editions are there?

In Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Siege, there are 4 editions. They are:

  1. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege - Base Edition
  2. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege - Deluxe Edition
  3. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege - Gold Edition
  4. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege - Ultimate Edition

What is the difference between the 4 editions?

The main and only difference between the editions of this game is the number of operators that are accessible when the game is bought by the user. The infographic below represents the difference between the versions:

However, one should note that the legacy operators will not be unlocked by default and need to be unlocked through Renown or R6 credits for an extremely cheap price.

Which edition should you get?

The Deluxe Edition, in my opinion, is the best edition for beginners. The Deluxe Edition costs 1,499 INR and goes on sale quite frequently for which it is a steal. The Deluxe Edition offers the right balance between operators unlocked and the price paid for the operators- grinding to unlock operators can become extremely painful and make the experience of playing the game boring and demotivate grinding. Access to the Year 1 and Year 2 operators allows the players to explore a lot of operators on Attack and Defense- before you decide which operator to "main" ( your go-to operator).
